Hot Friday in Delhi, rainy Saturday likely


New Delhi, May 22 (IANS): It was a hot, sunny Friday in the national capital as the maximum temperature settled four notches above the season's average at 43.6 degrees Celsius. However, rain and dust storms are likely to occur in the city Saturday, the Met Office said.

According to the India Meteorological Department, Saturday morning will be sunny but the sky will turn cloudy towards the evening and light rain accompanied by thunderstorms are likely to occur in some parts of the city.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 44 and 28 degrees Celsius.

Friday's minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, which was average for this time of the season.

The day's maximum humidity was recorded at 46 percent.

Thursday's maximum temperature was recorded at 42.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, while the minimum temperature settled at 27 degrees Celsius, normal for the season's average.
