Chennai, May 20: BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy almost tied the knot a second time, in a wedding he attended in Tamil Nadu.
A video that has gone viral shows Dr Swamy almost tying the mangalsutra around the neck of the bride. Luckily for him, he was stopped in the nick of time by an alert woman.
Dr Swamy was attending a wedding during his recent visit to Tamil Nadu. He was given the mangalsutra and asked to give it to the groom and bless the bride.
However, to everyone's astonishment, Dr Swamy reached out to the bride and almost tied the mangalsutra around her neck. A lady who was standing by alerted him and, when he realized his mistake, Dr Swamy chuckled sheepishly and handed over the mangalsutra to the groom.
It is learnt that Dr Swamy mistook the mangalsutra for a small garland. The video has gone viral on social media, making the BJP leader the butt of jokes.
