Modi lauds Friends of India in South Korea


Seoul, May 19 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met the Friends of India association in South Korea and thanked its members for helping foster closer ties between the two nations.

"I feel proud to meet all of you," Modi said, according to a tweet by the ministry of external affairs.

"This is a very special meeting in Korea for me," he said.

He also urged the members to participate in the International Day of Yoga on June 21.

"I request you all to join International Day of Yoga on June 21. Friends of India can think about the largest Yoga celebration in Korea," he said.

"You know about the Bollywood... But you may not know about the regional films of India," he said on India's cultural diversity, according to tweets by the Prime Minister's Office.

"I find that young generation of Korea is interested in Indian culture, arts and music," he said.

"We need to find ways by which people working in arts and culture here can remain connected with similar people in India," Modi said, according to the PMO tweets.
