Hot Monday in Delhi, no relief likely on Tuesday


New Delhi, May 18 (IANS): The national capital experienced a hot and sunny Monday as the maximum temperature settled four notches above the season's average at 43 degrees Celsius. No respite is likely on Tuesday, the Met Office said.

According to the India Meteorological Department, Tuesday will see a clear sky and the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 43 and 28 degrees Celsius.

Monday's minimum temperature was recorded at 28.1 degrees Celsius - two notches above the season's average. The maximum humidity was 59 percent.

Sunday's maximum temperature settled a level above the season's average at 40.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 24.8 degrees Celsius -- a notch below the season's average.
