: A television series produced by Indian American filmmaker and actor Trilok Malik has been nominated for the New York Emmy award.

Malik's "Namaste- I Love Making Films In New York" has been nominated in the 'Historical Programming Cultural Historical' category.

The segment is on Indian filmmaking and was telecast in the WNET television progamme "Setting the State" and "New York Voices".

The Emmy is awarded by The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Winners will be announced at the 50th Annual Emmy Awards on Sunday April one next.

Opening with Malik, the segment also features many other Indian-American filmmakers and actors-- actress Pooja Kumar, actor Ranjit Chowdhry, DJ Rekha, producer Chander Malik-- as well as media other personalities.

"It's a proud moment for all Indian-American filmmakers and actors in New York," Malik, who is a pioneer in making films on Indian American themes for over a decade and has produced as well as acted in some internationally acclaimed movies, including Lonely in America, said.
