Nepalese schools, colleges closed till May 14


Kathmandu, April 30 (IANS): The Nepal government decided on Thursday to close till May 14 all educational institutions situated in the 11 districts majorly affected by last week's earthquake.

School and college buildings should be inspected before resuming classes, education ministry spokesperson Hari Lamsal said, adding it would take at least 15 days to inspect such buildings.

On Sunday, the government had declared a five-day holiday for schools.
