New Delhi, Apr 27: Comedian Vir Das is visibly upset and rightfully so given that police were called upon and their arrival not only sparked anxiety amongst his audiences but also caused for the show to abruptly shut down.

Vir Das, who was performing at Siri Fort Auditorium as part of his 'UnbelievablISH' tour, presented an exaggerated version of his meeting with former President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Someone in the audience wasn't too amused and took the opportunity to go back stage and expressly tell Vir Das not to talk about Dr. Kalam. Vir said that when he came back on stage for his second act, he found that police had come into the venue and were everywhere. The police in their attempt to investigate the complaint filed against the 35 year old comedian questioned all the members of his crew.

Vir Das, in retaliation wrote an open letter that he posted on his Facebook page and that has since attracted numerous likes, shares and comments. Vir also tweeted his intention to give people a clear idea of what went down at the auditorium. He wrote in, Some things went down at the Delhi show of the #UnbelievableTour that I feel are indicative of a scary time approaching. Writing about it."

Vir finishes off with sane advice for anyone who might not like his show or any particular aspect of it. He advices them, "If you don't like it, please attend the show, and tell me why you don't like it, and as an artist I will absorb that and do what I can with it, always respectfully. The next time you don't like a show, leave, or ask for your money back. The next time you call the cops, make sure a crime has been committed. The next time you see 1989 people laughing all around you, try and join them.

The next time an artist is in your city, if you really truly want to see him/her, put your cell phone down and buy a ticket. The next time you file a Police Complaint that shuts down a show and scares the shit out of people...have the courage to stick around. The next time I'm in town, if you're a powerful, influential person....please just don't come."
