Mumbai, Apr 26: Kalki Koechlin effusively praised and critically acclaimed movie Margarita with a straw fails to achieve continual audience appreciation. The movie that scored a lot of points at international film festivals even before its release in India seems to have its earning gradually declining and has seen far less footfalls over the past couple of days compared last week.

Its box office collections have been recorded by one trade analyst as, "Fri 43 lacs, Sat 74 lacs, Sun 89 lacs, Mon 31 lacs, Tue 31 lacs, Wed 30 lacs, Thu 30 lacs. Total: 3.28 cr. India biz." This was posted on Twitter.

However, if the grapevine is to be believed, though money hasn't been coming in on par with Rs 100 crore making films, the movie has been in demand. And this has prompted the makers to release it in 12 new centres. The dozen new places chosen are: Kanpur, Allahbad, Lucknow, Dehradun, Siliguri, Darjeeling, Durgapore, Rajkot, Hubli, Lonawala, Goa, and Chinchwada.

Director Shonali Bose seemed ecstatic at this development. She said, “We will be releasing the film in 12 more centers. It has increased no. of shows in metros and will also be releasing in B and C towns. We have been receiving request from audiences who are keen to watch the film. It is very heartening to see it grow in this fashion."

The movie that moved many celebs to tears, tells the heart rending story of a girl suffering from cerebral palsy and her journey to seeking love and a life partner.
