Mumbai, Apr 26: The couple who caused quite a stir with their whirlwind romance in the 8th season of Bigg Boss, narrowly avoided a road accident, thanks to Upen's quick thinking and will now safely perform at Nach Baliye season 7.

Upen described the incident, saying, "While travelling to Madh Island, I suddenly realised that the driver fell asleep and lost control over the car’s steering. I had to quickly take control. The driver later informed me that he has been working double shifts for three days, so I made him eat and rest for some time. Thankfully, I was seated next to him, or the situation could have been worse."

The driver of the car admitted to having dozed off for a bit due to the double shifts that he had been pulling lately and thereby losing control. Upen who was seated beside the driver immediately took hold of the steering wheel and righted the car before it ploughed into a four wheel drive that was coming from the opposite direction.

Karishma too was in the car with choreographers Bhawna Khanduja and Vaibhav Ghuge at the time of the accident. They were all en route to Madh island from Gurgaon. The remaining passengers were thankful to Upen for saving their lives, but did not tell the driver off for his obvious overworking and subsequent fatigue.

The couple will soon be back on everyone's TV screens as they groove on the Nach Baliye 7 stage.
