Mumbai, Apr 21: Mani Ratnam's narration of a story of a couple in a live in relationship has lived up to its name "O Kadhal Kanmani " (O Apple of my eye) and turned into a crowd favourite with earnings close to Rs 15 crores in 4 days.

Starring Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen as the leading couple of Aadi and Thara, the movie portrays how the two meet up by accident twice and then go to become close friends. They decide live together as neither believes in the institution of marriage and this works out just fine till they realise that their relationship is not bound to only friendship but has evolved into something much more profound.

After a really long time Mani Ratnam has made a romantic movie and it has enthralled its viewers in true Mani Ratnam style. Reportedly the movie has made quite an impact abroad as well. Trade Analyst Trinath is reported to have said, "The film has approximately collected Rs.14.73 crore from both its Tamil as well as dubbed Telugu versions in four days worldwide. Despite the onslaught of 'Kanchana 2', which has already turned out to be a super hit, Mani's film has impressed the multiplex audiences,"
