100 school students poisoned in Afghanistan


Kabul, April 11 (IANS): Around 100 students of a school in the western Afghan province of Herat suffered from poisoning under mysterious circumstances on Saturday, police said.

"Around 100 students of Al-Fatah school were mysteriously poisoned and so far 81 of them have been taken to hospitals for medical treatment," Xinhua quoted provincial police chief Abdul Majid Rozi as telling reporters in Herat city, 640 km west of Afghanistan's capital Kabul .

Without giving more details, the official said that an investigation has been initiated into the matter.
