24 killed in bus accident in Bangladesh


Dhaka, April 9 (IANS): At least 24 people were killed when a bus rammed into a number of trees on Thursday in Faridpur district of Bangladesh.

The accident occurred around 1.15 a.m. on Thursday on the Barisal-Dhaka highway when the bus lost control and hit a number of trees, Assistant Superintendent of Highway Police Belal Hossain told bdnews24.com. 

The deceased include 19 men and 5 women. 

Twenty-two people who were injured in the accident have been taken to the Bhanga Upazila Health Complex and Faridpur Medical College Hospotal, assistant director of Faridpur Fire Service Shamsuzzoha said.
