2G case: Final arguments begin against Essar, Loop promoters

New Delhi, April 1 (IANS): Final arguments in the 2G spectrum case against Essar Group and Loop Telecom promoters commenced in a court here on Wednesday.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge O.P. Saini commenced the final arguments which were heard for some time and then the court fixed April 6 for further hearing.

CBI has alleged that the promoters of the Essar Group were the real investors and beneficiaries of the spectrum and licences issued to Loop Telecom, which was used as a front company by Essar to acquire 2G licences and spectrum in 2008.

This has been denied by Essar.
