New Delhi, Apr 1 (Agencies): Union minister of state and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Giriraj Singh finds himself engulfed in a controversy after allegedly making ‘sexist comments’ against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the late PM Rajiv Gandhi.
At a meeting in Bihar’s Hajipur district, Giriraj Singh said, “If Rajiv Gandhi would have married a Nigerian lady than a white-skinned girl, would Congress party have accepted her leadership?”
Not just that, the minister took a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s absence from the Parliament and compared him with the Malaysian Airlines flight that went missing with hundreds of passengers aboard over a year ago.
Girirraj said, “The whole budget session has passed but Rahulji is nowhere. He is like that missing Malaysian flight.”
Among the first to react was senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh who demanded the minister’s resignation.
This is not the first time that Giriraj Singh finds himself in the midst of controversy. The first time happened soon after the BJP won the General Elections in 2014 when he asked all those opposing Narendra Modi to move to Pakistan.
