New Delhi, March 24 (IANS): An 11-year-old boy committed suicide here by hanging himself from a ceiling fan hours after his mother scolded him for going outside to play, police said on Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as Bittu. The incident came to light from north Delhi's Burari on Monday evening when Bittu was found hanging from the ceiling fan of a room on the third floor of his house.
Bittu, the youngest among four siblings, took the extreme step a few hours after he was scolded by his mother for going outside to play, police said.
"When his mother found Bittu hanging, she raised the alarm. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead," said a police official.
