Mangalore, Feb 7: The Indian Coast Guards conducted a workshop on search and rescue operations for fishermen at Bunder here on Tuesday February 6.

Speaking on the occasion, Coast Guards deputy commandant Nitin R Rathore urged the fishermen to carry identification cards with them while venturing out to sea.

He warned them that the Coast Guards would keep a sharp look out on anti-social activities planned on sea and therefore, fishermen found without identification cards will be in trouble.

He also advised them to make use of safety jackets during times of accidents and asked them to go in groups while venturing on long fishing trips.

Among those present were Coast Guards deputy commandant Rajesh P Sharma, assistant director P Parshwanath, and fisheries department deputy director Suresh Kumar.
