Mangalore, Feb 5: More than 20 organizations staged protest and took out a rally protesting against the attack on the office of 'Karavali Ale' newspaper on Monday February 5 evening.



The protesters shouted slogans and demanded the police and the administration to hold an enquiry into the matter and punish the culprits.



DYFI president Sunil Kumar Bajal, Bank Employees' Federation central committee member B M Madhav, Karnataka Raita Sangha general secretary Yadav Shetty, DYFI district president Muneer Katipalla, Nagarika Hitarakashana Samiti president Hanumantha Kamath, Sukumar of CITU and others addressed the protestors and condemned the attack.  They termed the attack as an assault on democracy and freedom of media.





The protest was held in front of the deputy commissioner’s office.  Prior to that a protest rally too was taken out by the agitators.
