Mangalore, Feb 6: Tulu play competition organized by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy was inaugurated by Alva's Education Foundation president Dr M Mohan Alva on Monday February 5 evening.
The programme began with prayer while Tulu academy member Ramchandar Bykampady welcomed the gathering and delivered introductory remarks. Dr Mohan Alva in his inaugural message said that it is high time that Tulu language, culture and traditions are promoted with zeal and enthusiasm through literature, plays, folklores etc.
Noted theatre artiste and director I K Boluvar was the chief guest at the inaugural function. Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president K Seetharam Kulal presided over the function.
Academy president later presented memento to the chief guest. Registrar S H Shivarudrappa proposed the vote of thanks.
