Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (VM)

Puttur, Feb 5: The day-long bundh called by Shri Ram Sene protesting against the interference of police in the religious function, obtained poor response.

The bundh was called on Monday, Feb 5, the day after the police resorted to lath charge and firing in the air to disperse a crowd that wanted to take out a procession without police approval.

The police had made adequate security arrangements to ensure that the bundh does not affect normal life.

On Monday life moved normally with shops and commercial establishments carrying on their daily business.

It is also said that the bundh was called by the Hindu organization without prior permission from the police.

The police have detained 33 persons who were arrested on Sunday night. However Arun Kumar Puttila one of the prominent leaders is still at large.
