New Delhi, Feb 22 (TOI): Though there are many times we think that we hope we had no heart or feelings as they always leads us to deep mess, one should not forget that heart is one of the most important organ and should be given all the care and attention.

A healthy heart is a sign of a body which is fit and in shape. So here are 7 ways to a healthy heart.

1. Quit smoking: If you are planning to quit smoking or have already quit it then stick to it. Smoking is one of the worst habits and if you want a healthy heart, then quit smoking. Live smoke-free.

2. Eat Healthy: One of the best ways to keep your heart healthy is to eat healthy. Cheating once in a while is okay, but make sure that you make it up the next day by eating healthy and exercising right.

3. Maintain a healthy weight: First of all check your BMI. Make sure that your BMI is below the mark. A healthy weight will make sure that your heart is not stressed too much and hence can take the load of your daily stress levels.

4. Exercise regularly: Make sure that you exercise atleast for 40-50 minutes five-six days a week. Brisk walk, yoga, aerobics, weight training combine these exercises to yield better results.

5. Healthy-heart diet: Eat a healthy-heart diet. Include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, vitamins and minerals. Make sure that you don't skip any of your meal and drink loads of water.
