Telangana chief minister turns 61


Hyderabad, Feb 17 (IANS): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao Tuesday turned 61.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and several leaders of various political parties greeted him.

Rao, who is visiting Mumbai to meet his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis to discuss inter-state irrigation projects, celebrated the birthday in Maharashtra Raj Bhavan.

KCR, as Rao is popularly known, cut the cake and received greetings from Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao, who hails from Telangana.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) general secretary K. Keshava Rao, party MPs and state ministers accompanying KCR greeted him.

Chandrababu Naidu telephoned KCR to convey his best wishes.

TRS leaders and activists celebrated KCR's birthday in different parts of Telangana by organizing blood donation camps, cutting cakes and distribution of fruits among poor.
