Puttur, Jan 19: In a major breakthrough, the District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) police along with the CCB police of Bangalore have arrested two persons and seized a revolver, two sabres and two cars on Thursday January 18.

The arrested have been identified as Sharan and Vinay. The police arrested the two based on the information elicited from Sandeep and Nagesh, the two accomplices of Mumbai-based underworld don Ravi Poojary.  Sandeep and Nagesh had been nabbed by the police in a lodge here a few days ago.  During the initial investigation they had revealed that they had been given supari (contract) to kill some prominent businessmen of the area.

Further investigation revealed that there were many more other men involved in the conspiracy.  Accordingly the police arrested Sharan and Vinay and seized two cars, two sabres and revolver from them.  They have now revealed that they had been hired to kill a Mangalore-based businessman and two others.

The DCIB police are investigating the case.
