Mangalore, Jan 16:
The water leakage from a valve at Kulai pump house has created a artificial pond right in front of the pump house, by the side of national highway. In fact, the NHAI has to pump out the water from the highway continuously and if unattended, it affects the slab culvert work of the NHAI.

Quite interestingly, the water leakage is going on for the past five to six months and the MCC has not taken any steps in this regard.

According to MCC sources, the valve is 35 years old and the MCC is postponing the repair as it costs a few thousand rupees. “The MCC has failed to understand the quantity of water being leaked from the value,” sources said and added: “The waste water is enough to supply to a colony!”

On the other hand, according to sources, the ‘artificial pond’ surfaced simply because the NHAI took up the work at that particular spot. There may be many other such spots.
