UP school teaches foul language, how to abuse

Lucknow, Feb 12 (IANS): In a shocking incident, the manager of a school in Uttar Pradesh paraded the students at a public place where he exhibited their skills in abusive and foul language that was taught in classes.

The manager of Ratna Public School, established in 2002 in Rahulnagar in Mauja of Azamgarh district, showed people and passers-by the "abusive talent" of students from classes 3 to 10.

As people recorded the entire drama on their cell phones, which was later passed on to television channels, manager Rajiv Kumar was seen claiming that abusing was an essential part of the formative years of students these days.

He said he did not fear anyone and that he found abuses "intoxicating". He also challenged media persons saying they would be able to do nothing against him.

Later, the Basic Shiksha Adhikari of the state education department rushed to the school and asked the authorities to seal the premises.

The school principal, who is also the manager's wife, told the education department official that her husband had been training school children on how to use foul language for a long time, an official said.

The manager was arrested and taken to a police station for questioning.

Education department officials said they would investigate how such a school has been running for so long and will move to revoke the school's license.

Azamgarh is the parliamentary constituency of former chief minister and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
