Mangalore, Jan 14: The Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Aloysius Paul D’Souza celebrated his 40 years of priesthood on December 3, 2006. But due to his hectic schedule, it was not easy celebrate his jubilee in many places.

The Jesuits of SAC grabbed the opportunity of Founders’ Day to show their love, respect and loyalty to the Bishop and celebrated his Ruby Jubilee on Jan 13.

At the Jesuit residence on light house hill, a small programme was organized in which the Bishop and the Jesuit Provincial Fr Vijay Kumar Prabhu participated. Fr Eugene Lobo principal of SAC delivered a touching toast to the Bishop. He also gave an update on the SAC Jesuit apostolate.

In reply, the bishop expressed happiness and sweet surprise for the massive service the SAC Jesuits are rendering to the poor in various parts of Karnataka, and especially at SAC campus. While requesting the Jesuits to cater to the spiritual needs of the migrant students, he himself expressed his desire to be more spiritually inclined in his leadership.
