Mangalore, Jan 14: The 25th annual convocation of Mangalore University was held on Saturday in the University campus in Konaje.
Former attorney general Soli J Sorabjee delivered the convocation address.
Honorary doctorate degrees were conferred on Prasad Bharathi chairman M V Kamath, scientist S K Jain, Tulu litterateur and writer P Venkataraj Punachithaya and social scientists S C Sharma by Governor T N Chaturvedi.
A total of 186 students were presented the degrees. Minister for higher education D H Shankaramurthy was the chief guest on the occasion. Vice chancellor Prof K M Kaveriappa was present on the occasion.
