Jaipur, Jan 14: There was no respite from the icy winds in majority of areas in Rajasthan and normal life continued to be affected today with north westerly winds taking the mercury down further.

Mount Abu remained the coldest place in the state recording a minimum temperature of minus 1.6 degree celsius, the Met Office said.

Weather forecast

The weathermen attributed the continued dip in the mercury to the north westerly and north easterly winds blowing across the state.

Churu and Sriganganagar were the coldest places after Mount Abu with minimum temperatures of 1.5 and 2.5 degrees celsius respectively.

Jaipur registered the lowest temperature of the season at 2.4 degrees celsius.

The weather also affected services of a few trains between from Delhi to Jaipur and due to the early morning fog the road traffic too was disturbed.

The weather office forecast that there would be no respite from the icy winds and temperatures were likely to dip further in the next 24 hours.
