Sensex trades 104 points up; capital goods stocks gain


Mumbai, Feb 11 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Wednesday was trading 103.83 points or 0.37 percent up as capital goods stocks gained.

Good buying was observed in capital goods, banking and healthcare sectors.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 28,450.26 points, was trading at 28,459.45 points (at 01.40 p.m.) in the afternoon session, up 103.83 points or 0.37 percent from the previous day's close at 28,355.62 points.

The Sensex has touched a high of 28,618.91 points and a low of 28,424.39 points in the trade so far.

The S&P capital goods index gained by 218.71 points, bankex moved up by 199.67 points and healthcare index got augmented by 184.86 points.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also was trading 47.45 points or 0.55 percent up at 8,613 points.
