AAP win pushes up broom price!

New Delhi, Feb 10 (IANS): The humble 'jhadu' - the AAP election symbol - Tuesday sold for Rs.200 a piece here as frenzied celebrations erupted after the party swept the Delhi assembly election.

A broom normally sells for Rs.30-50.

AAP supporters complained that many shops ran out of their stock of brooms. Shopkeepers said there was hectic buying since Monday in anticipation of an Aam Aadmi Party victory.

But despite the cost, AAP supporters still bought the brooms -- to wave as they celebrated on the streets and outside party offices.

The AAP is poised to win an incredible 65 of the 70 seats in the Delhi assembly, leaving just four seats to the BJP and one to the Indian National Lok Dal. The Congress suffered a washout.
