Pakistan observes Kashmir Day

Islamabad, Feb 5 (IANS): Pakistan Thursday observed Kashmir Day to express solidarity with the people of Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PoK).

Kashmir Day is observed annually in Pakistan to remind the international community about its commitments regarding Kashmiris' right to self-determination, Geo News reported.

Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have urged the international community to fulfill its promise to the Kashmiris, of granting them their right to self-determination through a free and fair plebiscite, as only a just solution can bring lasting peace in the area.

Various programmes have been arranged by the political and religious parties to highlight the day's importance.
