IIM-C to host Coke Studio with Carnatic rock band


Kolkata, Jan 30 (IANS): The Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta (IIM-C) will host the maiden Coke Studio musical event in the city Saturday with Bangalore-based Carnatic progressive rock band Agam, a release said.

"IIM-C, as part of their annual cultural fest 'Carpe Diem 2015', is hosting Coke Studio, for the first time in Kolkata with Agam on 31st January, 8.30 p.m. onwards at IIM Calcutta campus, Joka," the statement from the institute said.

It said, in addition to bringing Agam, a multiple award-winning band, it is also hosting singer Mohit Chauhan Feb 1.

Among Agam's most notable collaboration is its association with Bollywood singer Shreya Ghosal for a song titled "Live Again".

Aimed at raising public awareness for breast cancer, it became the winner of 'Bite My Music' global awards - the biggest independent music awards in south Asia.

It performed in the second season of Coke Studio (India) which started July 7, 2012.
