Administrative officers, policemen shifted in Kashmir


Jammu, Jan 27 (IANS): The Jammu and Kashmir government Tuesday ordered a major reshuffle shifting over four dozen administrative officers and 84 police officers.

Governor N.N. Vohra shifted two dozen Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and two dozen Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officers, said a government order issued in Jammu.

Two inspectors general, seven deputy inspectors general, and 75 senior superintendents and superintendents were transferred.

Sundeep Kumar Nayak was posted as principal secretary in the power development department, while Shaleen Kabra, a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Special Tribunal, was posted as commissioner/secretary in the school education department.

Sunil Kumar Sharma was posted as inspector general (human rights), while Ghulam Hassan Bhat was posted as deputy inspector general (Srinagar-Badgam range). Afadul Mujtaba was posted as deputy inspector general in the Crime Investigation Department in Jammu.

Many district police chiefs were also shifted from their current posting.
