Malaysia Airlines website hacked by Cyber Caliphate

Kuala Lumpur, Jan 26 (IANS): Malaysia Airlines (MAS) confirmed Monday that their Domain Name System (DNS) was compromised, media reported.

The Malaysia Airlines' (MAS) website was apparently hacked Monday morning by a group calling itself "Cyber Caliphate", the Malaysian Star reported.

The users were re-directed to a hacker website when users accessed their website.

"The airline has resolved the issue with its service provider and the system is expected to be fully recovered within 22 hours," said MAS in a press statement Monday.

The airline reported to CyberSecurity Malaysia and the ministry of transport on the matter and also assured customers and clients that this temporary glitch does not affect their bookings and their user data is secure, the statement said.
