Airports in Pakistan put on high alert


Islamabad, Jan 26 (IANS): Security at all major airports in Pakistan has been beefed up after an intelligence report indicated a threat to airport security, media reported Monday.

A security official said the security level at airports had been raised from "high alert" to "red alert" after reports that terrorists might attack a major international airport, Dawn online reported.

Extra security personnel have been deployed around airports, he said.
