28 CBI officials awarded service medals


New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS): A total of 28 officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been awarded police medals on the eve of the 66th Republic Day, an official statement said Sunday.

Five of the 28 officials have been awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service and the other 23 the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, the CBI statement said.

Joint Director Amrendra Kumar Singh from Patna, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sivagnanam Vellaipandi from Chennai, Additional SP N.Krishnamurthy from Delhi, Additional SP Rajiv Dwivedi from Delhi and Deputy SP Suman Kumar from Mumbai are among those who have been given the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Deputy Inspector General Rajkumar Maruti Vhatkar from Mumbai, Deputy Director Deepika Suri from Delhi and Deputy Inspector General Ghanshyam Upadhyay from Delhi are among the 23 other officials getting the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
