Vistara to increase flight operations from Feb 16


New Delhi, Jan 22 (IANS): Tata's full service passenger carrier Vistara Thursday said that it will increase its flight operations from Feb 16.

The joint venture (JV) airline between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines currently operates three daily services between Delhi-Mumbai-Delhi.

The airline also operates one flight each between Delhi-Ahmedabad and Mumbai-Ahmedabad.

According to the airline's new schedule, two more daily flights will be operated on Delhi-Mumbai route, while one more daily operation will be added to Mumbai-Ahmedabad and Delhi-Ahmedabad routes.

The airline started commercial operations from Jan 9, making it the eighth scheduled passenger carrier to operate in India.

The airline also became the third full service carrier along with Jet Airways and Air India.

It has deployed the new Airbus A320-200 aircraft which offers 16 seats in business cabin, 36 in premium economy and 96 in economy class.

Tata Sons holds the majority stake (51 percent) in the joint venture and the rest (49 percent) is held by Singapore Airlines.
