Groom breaks into school to take his 'student' bride home

Jan 22 (Agencies) : Mauritanian police in Salababi province in the far south of the country arrested four young males, including the groom, for breaking into a high school to pick up the bride.

Witnesses said that the incident occurred when the headmaster of high school in the city of Salababi filed a complaint to the police against the four young men who had forcibly escorted the girl from inside the classroom.

It turned out later that the bride was hiding from her groom, because she didn’t want to marry him and she wanted to continue her studies instead. This pushed the groom to his limits, and he decided to break into the school with his friends and take her home.

The young men assaulted the headmaster when he tried to prevent them from storming into the classroom several times; causing panic and chaos within the school. But later on, the headmaster withdrew the complaint against young men.
