New Delhi, Jan 21 (India Today) : Anna Hazare, miffed at Kiran Bedi for joining the BJP, on Wednesday said he was capable of fighting for the Lokpal Bill alone.
"I'm capable of fighting alone for the future agitations on Lokpal... I do not wish to speak on Kiran nor Arvind and dirty politics," the 77-year-old anti-corruption activist told Headlines Today in Ralegan Siddhi village in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar.
Former IPS officer Bedi, now the BJP''s CM candidate for Delhi, had taken part in the agitation with Hazare for the Jan Lokpal Bill, with Arvind Kejriwal.
While Kejriwal moved away from the movement to form the Aam Aadmi Party, Bedi stayed with Hazare, who shuns political parties.
When Bedi too joined politics, a hurt Hazare said she should have consulted him before taking the plunge.
But after that, he has avoided speaking on Bedi, who used to be a frequent visitor to his village.
But this time, after joining politics, she is yet to come to the village.
Instead, she reportedly tried to speak to her mentor on phone but Hazare refused.
She even sent an envoy from Pune to Ralegan Siddhi but it was of no use.
Then, on her behalf, activist Vishambhar Choudhary travelled to Ralegan and when he told Hazare that Bedi, was on the line, he refused to speak again.
After that Bedi called Hazare's secretary Dutta Awari, but it was of no avail.
However, on Wednesday morning, when a Headlines Today reporter asked Hazare why he did not want to share his views on Bedi joining the BJP, he said he did not wish to speak anything about "dirty politics".
When asked him how he would continue his fight for strong Lokpal Bill, Hazare said he was "capable of carrying on the agitation alone".
He said he had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi thrice asking about the status of the Lokpal Bill since it has been passed in Parliament.
When asked why he spoke on Kejriwal forming a political outfit but has maintained silence on Bedi's move, Hazare said he neither wished to speak anything about Bedi nor about Kejriwal.
