Now, former Railway minister TMC's Dinesh Trivedi set to join BJP, meets Amit Shah

Kolkata, Jan 20 (IBN): The Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be getting successful in gathering support from various quarters in the political arena. After Kiran Bedi and former Aam Aadmi party member Shazia Ilmi, senior Trinamool Congress leader Dinesh Trivedi is all set to join the BJP.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Trivedi said that he is a great leader and the world is looking up to him. According to sources, he has been in touch with BJP President Amit Shah and senior party leader Sidharth Nath singh for the last few weeks.

While he did not clearly state that he will be joining the BJP, he said that "in politics you only do what is best for the nation."

He also criticised his party chief Mamata Banerjee for failing to live upto the expectations of the people. "We have done well as compared to Left but we could have done much better. I am saddened by the violence that I see in Bengal politics," he said.
Apart from Kiran Bedi and Shazia Ilmi, several other leaders have joined the BJP in the past week. Some of these include, former minister and Congress leader Krishna Tirath and Vinod Kumar Binny.

Politicians desperation to join ruling party can be seen as frustration to make money or on their part on scope in the party they are joining.
Removing corruption is merely a slogan.
There is no strong will power to work as NGO's but there is strong urge to seek party ticket speaks all that.

Well said Valerian. When the 'ship' of their own careers (political or other) are 'sinking' such persons look desperately for avenues 'to revive' or more correctly 'to survive'.

well this man ill be an asset to Bengal BJP!.. they will do well, (not that will be in governemtn on their own- but TMC and BJP are playing good cop and bad cop, atleast keeping LEFT & congress out of the whole game, which is enough for me) this man can be ideal partnership CM candidate!...

I liked the way he cleared the picture of railways in 2012.. he vocally supported a price hike in ticket price, to lift Railways up!... that fell on deaf ears.. I think even BJP opposed it then!.. Worst is DIDI took that as an excuse and called him back! actual reason was he was sitting on the TMC -raliways canteen contractors deal - which went thru later with a new Railway minister. he is well educated and as clear idea of economics.. Hope he will get an opportunity to lift Bengal up from poverty and current mess! that state needs rapid development, industries, investment... Pains me to travel there.. once upon a time even British started off from there.. there was so much intellectual and human capital there.. today it is into Maar peet- and Bhishon Donga...! :( we need to seal the border tight!

yes... communists specially CPI are worst.. they have no value for human life!!.. and if you know Bangla, there is no gender difference in their langauage.. male and female are refereed equally!.. hence, they are atrocious with violence on men and women in equal measures!.. they are uncivilised with their rape remarks always! Sad to see the state which was once famous for art, music, rabindra sangeet, quiz, theater, revolution, films, poetry and what not!

infact, people like Guru Dutt, Kalpana Lajmi, syam benegals and other prominent south canara saraswats- used to goto KOLKATA first to have skills and career shaped!
