23 militants surrender in Afghanistan


Kabul, Jan 18 (IANS): At least 23 militants Sunday surrendered to the government in Afghanistan's Baghlan province, media reported.

"A total of 23 militants, who were active in Jurga district over the past couple of years, Sunday surrendered to the government. They handed over their weapons to police at Pul-e-Khumri," Xinhua reported, quoting Abdul Rashid Bashir, deputy to provincial police chief.
