Pune: McDonalds throws street kid out, says 'these kind of people not allowed'

Jan 17 (Agencies): In a shocking incident, a homeless child was pushed out of a McDonalds restaurant in Pune. The issue has now got the attention of Maharashtra government and is expected to order a probe soon.

"I will get back to you after I enquire into the incident. I don't have all the pertinent information with me yet," Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, according to IBN Live.

The issue came to light when a woman, who took the child to the fast-food restaurant in question, posted it on her Facebook account.

Shaheena Attarwala wanted to buy the homeless kid a Fanta float from McDonalds after the latter asked for it.

When she was standing in the line along with the child at the outlet, a staff of the McDonalds, "pushed and threw the kid out." She described that the staff was "extremely rude and told her that these kind of people are not allowed inside."

In another post, Attarwala said people from McDonalds called her "after watching the CCTV footage and tried to cover it up by saying that they took that step because they have had a bomber incident before 2012."

"I asked him what if this same incident of throwing out a poor kid from your restaurant happened in USA ...he said ma'am this is INDIA," she wrote on her wall.

However, McDonalds has said that it has ordered an internal probe on the incident. "We wish to affirm that we treasure and respect everyone in equal measure and do not support any form of discrimination," the fast-food giant said in a statement, according to IBN Live.

The issue has also become a hot topic of discussion on Reddit and has received mixed reaction.

Peddu, Signboards displaying ‘Rights of Admission Reserved’ and indicating Dress Code aren’t too uncommon in hospitality industry, but I don’t remember to have noticed such stuff in front Mc Donalds’ outlets so far (have you?), I could be wrong as I don’t happen to be a frequenter to such joints. In any case, the message could’ve been conveyed in a civilized manner instead of manhandling the innocent kid.

Any person with shabby and dirty cloths will be of nuisance value to the cleanliness concerned customers. Can we accept anyone like that among us? Or else they should be accommodated separately.
That's why P.M. Modi's swatch Bharath mission should be made successful.
It looks rude, but it's impossible for a decent commercial restaurant to allow such customer in.

Govt should shutdown all high class restaurants within 50Kms radius of city limits or strictly regulate prices
They are just minting money & cause severe food inflation within the city for ordinary working class citizens
Only restaurants in 5 star hotels should be allowed in the city who source their groceries from abroad and not from Local markets or surrounding villages

While traveling through a northern State of India with two of my Indian friends, we asked the taxi driver to take us to a good restaurant. He drove us to a good restaurant for lunch, and when we invited him to eat with us, he was somewhat shocked and was very reluctant to join with us in his untidy clothing.

I had to grab him a total stranger met only for a few hours, and put him right to my side and gave him the menu at first to order whatever he wanted to order. While watching the joy of his face eating that expensive food for him, gave me the greatest joy of life.

If we want to get spiritually blessed, take care of the poor and needy people of the society that joy is far beyond our psychological imagination and better than getting anything tangible.
