Wagah, Dec 24: The Pakistan government today commenced the repatriation of Indian prisoners, majority of them fishermen through this joint border check post.

According to BSF sources here, about 70 Indians held in various prisons in Pakistan are expected to come home. The repatriation exercise is expected to be completed by late in the evening.

Most of the prisoners have completed their jail terms, ranging from two to five years.

The Indian government had on Friday repatriated 57 Pakistani prisoners through the checkpost.

The Pakistan Rangers handed over the documents regarding each of the Indian prisoners to the BSF. The released prisoners will be taken to Amritsar for a medical check-up from where they will be sent to their respective destinations on Sunday.
