Himachal approves industrial proposals worth Rs.2,500 crore


Shimla, Jan 14 (IANS): Himachal Pradesh Wednesday approved industrial proposals amounting to approximately Rs.2,500 crore, a development that would provide employment opportunities to more than 7,800 people, an official said.

The state-level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority, presided over by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, approved 28 new proposals. It also gave approval to expansion proposals of 32 existing units.

Among the new proposals, a majority of them were received during recent investors' meets organised by the state industries department in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, a government spokesperson told IANS.

During the investors' meets, major emphasis was laid on agro-industrial, engineering goods, pharmaceuticals and the food health sectors.

The new proposals that got approval included Crispy Bites, Fateh Enterprises, Micro Seamless, Hafco Agro Infrastructure, Him Healthy Farm Food and Rock and Storm Distilleries Pvt Ltd.

The expansion proposals of Vardhman Spinning Mills, Indorama Group, Tirupati Wellness and Aqua Vitoe Laboratories were also approved.

The concerned authority also gave an in-principle approval to the proposals of pharmaceuticals majors Torrent Group and Lupin for exploring the possibility of setting up of projects at a total cost of about Rs.450 crore.
