New Delhi, Jan 13 (Agencies) : Congress President Sonia Gandhi will convene a Congress Working Committee meeting on Tuesday morning at the party headquarters. It will be first meeting since the party lost heavily in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
All eyes are likely to remain on party Vice President Rahul Gandhi as there are indications that he might be elevated to the post of President. Sources, however, within the Congress party have repeatedly denied this.
The meeting comes soon after the Congress President had written to state party leaders seeking their inputs into organisational reforms and accountability.
The meeting also gains significance as it comes a day after the Election Commission announced the schedule for the polling to the 70-member Delhi Assembly. The party has ruled the state for 15 years before it witnessed its worst ever performance in the national capital and its downfall thereafter.
The voting in Delhi will be held on February 7 and the counting will take place on February 10.
