Fog delays over 50 trains in Delhi


New Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS): It was a cold Sunday morning here, with fog delaying 51 trains and forcing reschedule of a few others.

According to the Northern Railway, 51 trains coming to the city were running late, while four trains departing from Delhi were rescheduled. One train was cancelled.

"There was moderate to dense fog in the morning with the visibility dropping to 700 metres at 8.30 a.m. The day will be partly cloudy," an India Meteorological Department official said.

The day's minimum temperature settled one notch below the season's average 6.6 degree Celsius, and the day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 18 degrees Celsius.

Humidity was recorded 89 percent at 8.30 a.m..

Saturday's maximum temperature had settled two notches below the season's average at 18.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 7.2 degrees - average for the season.
