Puttur, Dec 18: Two policemen of Kadaba police station have been suspended following punitive excesses on two young men at Kallantadka on Thursday December 14. 
 
The agitators had gathered in front of the Nada kacheri station demanding justice from the police.  On Thursday December 21, head constable Ravi and police constable Ajit Mathew had tortured Kallantadka resident Joachim Rodrigues and Arpaje resident Benedict Thoras on the issue of cremating bodies Kallantadka Hindu cremation ground.

Following this the locals had staged a massive protest rally in front of the 'nada kacheri'.  The protest march started from IB at Kadaba in which hundreds of people participated.  A memorandum was submitted to home minister through Kadaba in-charge tahsildar S Raghavendra Achar.

Accordingly the district police admistration has taken action against the two erring cops.
