Bangalore, Dec 11:Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy conducted a one-day workshop of Konkani 'vhovio' and 'vers' ( traditional wedding songs) in Konkan Bhavan, No. 34, 2nd Cross, 10th Main, Mathikere, Bangalore on Sunday, December 10.

President of  Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Eric Ozario in his inaugural speech stressed the significance of 'Vhovio' and 'Vers' in marriages in Konkani Community.

Pooja Dhareshwar from Dharwad explained to the participants the use of vhovios in GSB community. Hilda Moras and Irene Rebello conducted a session on suitability of various vhovios, esp. the context of the vhovios etc.

In the afternoon session Eric Ozario explained about the usage of Verse. All the participants sang various verse with back-ground music. Excellent atmosphere was created which took all the participants to the last century. Participants were much excited, so much so that they ware singing Vovio and Verse on their way back home.

Chairman of the Federation of  Konkani Catholic Association Valerian Fernandes, who was the chief guest, distributed participation certificates. Noted journalist, writer and executive member of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Gabriel Vaz proposed a vote of thanks. All those participated carried the sweet memories of this great programme.
