Mangalore, Dec 10: School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, won the overall championship at 'Art Beat 2006' an inter-collegiate fest conducted by the Arts department of St Aloysius College here on Saturday December 9.

Vivekananda College, Puttur bagged the runner-up title. As many as eight colleges affiliated to Mangalore University participated in the two-day fest.

The chief guest for the valedictory function was Prof Rolphy Mascarenhas, former dean of Arts faculty, St Aloysius College. Speaking on the occasion, he advised the students to have a positive attitude in life and to measure success by the number of times one has bounced back after being defeated.

Fr Eugene Lobo, principal, St Aloysius College, Ligoury Mendonca, dean, Arts faculty, Art Beat coordinator Ratan Mohunta and student coordinator Fahim Ahmed were present.
