Mangalore / Moodbidri, Dec 10: Sandeep Kumar (17), a PUC student of Indian Academy College, Hennur Cross, Bangalore, drowned in river Phalguni at Maroor near Moodbidri around 1 pm on Saturday.

He was here to take part in the cross-country race on Sunday morning as part of a state-level athletic meet being held in Moodbidri. He had gone to swim in the river for pastime.
