Bantwal, Dec 8: Situation remained very peaceful in Farangipet here on Friday December 8 after some miscreants threw a locally-made bomb in the Sevanjali Trust premises on Thursday December 7 evening. The minor blast though had caused panic in the area for sometime, police ensured that situation did not go beyond control.
As reported earlier, Section 144 has been imposed in Farangipet from 6 am to 6 pm on Friday. Most of the shops, business concerns remained closed though no one gave a call for bundh. Only a few shops were open.
Otherwise the area wore a deserted look as some of the private vehicles coming to and going from the city avoided the route. Extensive police security has been arranged in the area. SP B Dayanand and Puttur ASP Dr Harsha too have been in touch with the police and are taking stock of the situation.
